MCP Server Integration
Learn how to connect AI assistants and agentic IDEs to adn-ui using the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server.
Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server
adn-ui includes a built-in Model Context Protocol (MCP) server endpoint that allows AI coding assistants (such as Antigravity, Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, or custom agents) to inspect, search, and retrieve component source code, documentation, and registry manifests directly over SSE or HTTP transport.

The MCP server endpoint is served at:

The MCP server exposes 6 specialized tools for AI assistants:

list_components | {} | Returns a complete list of all available adn-ui components along with their internal file structure (.tsx, .css, .variants.ts). |
get_component | { name: string } | Fetches full source code, Tailwind v4 CSS, variants, and context files for a specific component (e.g. button, switch, combobox). |
search_components | { query: string } | Searches for components by name or keyword. |
get_component_doc | { name: string } | Retrieves MDX documentation, API specifications, and usage examples for a component. |
get_registry_item | { name: string } | Retrieves the shadcn-compatible registry JSON manifest for direct installation. |
add_component | { name: string } | Returns installation commands (npx shadcn@latest add), registry URL, import specs, and manifest for adding an adn-ui component to a project. |
Connecting MCP Clients
Add the MCP server to Cursor under Settings > Features > MCP:
